Thinking of taking part in an Amaline production? Want to know what we look for? Here is a guidline. · Enthusiasm! Come through the door ready to enjoy rehearsals. You will need to concentrate, you will need to work but you will have fun. · Remember the play is being put on for an audience. It is not about who has more lines or a bigger part. We are all part of a production that is being put on for the enjoyment of the audience. If someone doesn’t fit a part, it will stick out like a sore thumb and will spoil the enjoyment for the audience. · Be a team player. Get to know the other people in the group. Offer to help read lines in absences or prompt. Be quiet whilst others are rehearsing. · Arrive to rehearsals promptly and come to every rehearsal if possible. There is no doubt the more a person rehearses, the better they are on production nights. They are also better team players and work better within the group. · Keep a mobile phone on in rehearsals in case of emergency but don’t play with it whilst waiting to rehearse. · Learn your lines on time. You are only free to act once you are not hampered by carrying a script around. Your performance will be better. · Being part of a production is fun. Performing is fun. The rest of the items listed are just to ensure you are ready to get the best possible enjoyment out of the whole experience. |
