Synopsis
Leon sells cars, whilst Nick sells life assurance. Rebecca is a film star, whilst Karen is a wife and mother. Emma won’t admit defeat, whilst Alison is a self-confessed failure. Helen finds it hard to speak, whilst Danni is told not to speak. Then there’s John who’s just decided he’s had enough. All these disparate people met the day they died.
This eclectic group of strangers are forced to sit in a waiting room somewhere between this life and the next with ‘The receptionist’ who could be, quite literally, from hell.
During the half-truths and the put-downs ‘The receptionist’ gives the individuals, friendships are forged and enemies are made.
Each person is taken out of the waiting room one-by-one by ‘The Interviewer’. The Interviewer is everything to all people, scarily knowing the intimate details of each one’s life. It is only then that they learn who they were in life and why they were afraid to be that person.
