Nicole Smith
Nicole made her Amaline debut in 'Wedding Shots' playing a wedding party crasher. Since then she has played leading roles in 'The Training of the Shrews' and 'Kill Cameron'.
Nicole thoroughly enjoys being a part of Amaline with its original plays produced by talented writers. She is very much looking forward to playing the character of 'Jen', a deluded pop star who will listen to anything to get to the top again.
Nicole is having lots of fun playing a bitchy celebrity, not to mention the hair pieces and costumes. She just hopes she can do the writers justice and ensure she is nothing like her character in real life!
Steve Maddern
Despite his belief in a total lack of talent, Steve became interested in theatre in his late 30’s, when he realised that he was never going to be a rock star or play for Cardiff City.
A stalwart of Maesteg Amateur Operatic Society’s pantomimes as the Dame and of various musicals, he was nominated for Best Actor in the 2009 ‘Glammies’ for his role as Lennie in ‘Of Mice and Men’ with Swansea Little Theatre.
Steve joined Amaline by appearing in ‘Kill Cameron’, and frankly, we didn’t have the heart to tell him not to come back.
Nigel Shephard
Nigel is from Port Talbot, but grew up abroad. After a career in the Royal Navy he went to University in York and later Durham to Study Politics and then Middle Eastern Studies. He has worked with young people for twenty years and is current employed by Merthyr Tydfil Borough Council in the Youth Service.
'Bang on Trend' marks Nigel's second production with Amaline Theatre Company after his appearance in 'Kill Cameron' in December 2010.
Rebecca Hunt
'Bang on Trend' marks Rebecca's second production with Amaline Theatre Company after her appearance in 'Kill Cameron' in December 2010.
Rich Brettell
Rich is a university graduate with a degree in English and Popular Culture. He currently works in the world of finance and hopes to aid the global financial recovery. His previous involvement with Amaline has taken many forms ranging from acting and stage managing to writing. He is currently working on a time travelling romp for Amaline alongside another play to be co-written with the founder.
Sarah Phillips
Sarah has been performing on stage since a young age. She was a member of the Isles of Scilly Theatre Club where she was involved in many of their productions until leaving the islands to further her education.
Sarah studied A-level theatre studies and undertook a London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts award where she achieved a distinction. ‘Bang On Trend’ will be Sarah's first production since joining Amaline at the beginning of the year. She is very excited about playing the part of Tamara, a celebrity psychologist who seems to care more about her client's appearances in magazines than their mental wellbeing.
Jacqueline Davies
Jacqueline is the Creative Director and
co-founder of Amaline Theatre Company.
A graduate in English and Popular Culture, she is currently a freelance Script Editor and Writer.
Jacqueline has taken drama and acting
lessons with Llanover Hall and Gest training. She has written, directed and produced for Amaline. 'Bang on Trend' marks Jacqueline's second appearance in an acting role for the company.
Andrew Groves
Andrew is a highly energetic and enthusiastic actor who is appearing in his first Amaline production. When not attending rehearsals Andrew is studying for his A Levels, playing guitar or keeping fit on the football pitch.
Renata Medeiros
Renata is originally from Portugal but moved to Cardiff in 2006 to start a doctorate degree in seabird ecology, which she finished recently. Having dedicated herself almost exclusively to science for the last 10 years, she finally decided to give a chance to the old passion of being part of a theatre company and experience stage acting. She found in Amaline a very friendly company with people of great talent that really help her engaging in her first ever acting experience, playing the part of the fragile and insecure Claire who has the ungrateful job of doing Jen's hair and makeup. I like 'Claire' very much and truly hope I can properly bring her to life - the fact that she tends to be a bit nervous most of the time, might be helpful!
Matt Large
This is Matt's first production with Amaline.
